Animated Product Photography

When they’re animated,  product photos come to life on-line.

Good product photography is vital to encourage on-line sales,  but still life photography despite being worth a thousand words,  can’t always tell the whole story.

Many products benefit from this advanced media presentation whether used as a video on-line,  in television commercials or on eye catching screens during presentations or at live exhibitions,  especially when sound effects or backing tracks are used as in the product animation video below.

All the above product photography was shot for our clients for either their mail order catalogues or their on-line web stores. Good product photography is one of the key ingredients to install trust in the mind of a retailers customer and very often can be the difference between a sale or no sale.
Every shot needs to show as much detail about the product in an instant as prospective buyers can view through many photos very quickly and will never pause to consider a product if it is in any way unclear what it’s main attributes are.
As on-line retailing takes up a larger proportion of total retail sales each year, only excellent photography will sell products via a website. Any image which looks in any way un-professional, simply drives sales down.

Studio product photography for Iconic Designs in Leeds.

We produced these product photographs in Leeds, for Iconic Designs of their range of Kitchen Sinks.

The studio product photography was shot on location in their workshops in Leeds. We took our portable studio lighting to their premises to enable us to produce studio quality photographs of their products.

As we only had small samples of the worktops that the sinks are designed to be fitted into, we had to shoot images which could later be cut out and placed into a real looking kitchen environment, to fully enhance the products.

The lighting was designed to give a similar appearance to the light one would normally expect to see a kitchen sink lit by, which is back-lit when in positioned in front of a bright kitchen window.

This would then help to make the final image look as realistic as possible when the product is cut out and placed into a real looking kitchen environment.

Below is the finished product photograph, which we created in image editing software using a combination of illustration and additional photographs.

This process was much less expensive to do, than to build a real kitchen room set to photograph the product in.

Now we have produced this artificial background for the product, it will enable us to provide consistent looking images in the future of new products as they are periodically added into the product range.

Again, as it would have been more expensive to have the following taps plumbed in for the product photography, we have added a simulation of water flowing to enhance these images. If we hadn’t told you, there is a good chance you may not have noticed, but it helps with keeping the product photography looking both consistent and stylised when used in the products sales material.
